Gault & Millau is a french restaurant guide, established in 1965. It is the main Michelin guide competitor. Gault & Millau asked us to create an amazing project. Gourmand by Gault & Millau — an app, which would show recommended places of French food artisans. This way the company wanted to improve local tourism and help French artisans to get new customers. Our goal was to create a platform for travellers, where they could find local artisans specialising in winery, cheese production, bakery, farmery or small restaurant with a specialty menu. This idea had to go from concept to working MVP in 2 months. We are focusing on small and local places, not on the tourist attractions like Google Places does.As a result we created a programming platform and app constructor, which could be used for creating apps for different regions. This meant that we could create an app for any region or city from scratch only in 2 hours. The constructor needed only this information: latitude, longitude, region name, logo and interface color. As a result we got an app with a name Gault & Millau Gourmand and a specification of the region, Megève for instance. The backend of all the apps was the same, that means, that to create a new regional app, one does not have to develop the new backend.
